New York Yankees

Although the Yankees are having their worst season of the past 2 decades, the Steinbrenners said they are going to bring GM Brian Cashman back next year. What! If Cashman couldn't get them to the playoffs with all that talent he deserves to be fired!

The Yankees may not make the playoffs, but no one can argue that their run of playoff success has been monumental. They have played in the post-season for 13 straight years, and they have 26 championships. I think they get a pass for one year.

I think the Yankees missing the playoff is the best thing that could possibly happen to baseball. The exorbitant wages that players like A-Rod earn are a disgrace to the game, and this will only reinforce the notion that money can't buy you success.

In typical Yankee fashion, Hank Steinbrenner has indicated that he is willing to open up his wallet to bolster the line-up if NY misses the playoffs. Haven't the Yanks learned anything? Money doesn't buy success, it just make everyone hate you.

The Yankees are such a joke it's not even funny. If they were any other team collapsing in August it wouldn't matter, but they aren't just any other team. They are the New York Yankees! It's like investing in Enron, and then watching it tank!

In a recent press conference Yanks boss Hank Steinbrenner said, "Next year we'll be extremely dangerous." Wait, does that mean he has given up on this year? No wonder the Yanks suck. If they don’t believe in themselves why should we?
